This week, I am thrilled to share the news of the successful completion of the pulling of a 3.5 km long x 6” diameter OFC Conduit pipe across the Subhanshari river using the intersect method of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) by our team members of Ace Energy Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
This is part of M/s Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited‘s project of installing 3500 meters long 24” dia Gas Pipeline and 6” dia CS Conduit for OFC across the Subansiri River by Intersect Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method.
Our team of experts tackled several technical and logistical challenges with precision and dedication, resulting in the completion of this complex HDD crossing’s first milestone. We are proud to have delivered a high-quality solution that meets the expectations of our clients and stakeholders. The fact that we pulled over 3500 metres of pipeline across the river in a mere 28 hours is a feat by itself.
But we are not stopping there. We are now excited to take on an even more ambitious challenge- pulling of 24” diameter mainline pipe across the same river. This presents a new set of challenges, but we are confident in our team’s ability to execute it flawlessly.
The intersect method of HDD used in this project involved drilling a pilot borehole from each bank of the river and then intersecting them beneath the riverbed. The OFC Conduit pipe was pulled through the borehole using a pulling head. This method is considered to be a highly efficient and cost-effective way of installing underground infrastructure across water bodies.
